A couple of decades ago, I read the book The Aladdin Factor that explains how everyone has dreams they want to accomplish and everyone has the capacity to help others by granting wishes, both simple and stupendous. The bottom line is that we should feel okay about asking others for help, and we should be helpful to those who ask for it.
Today, I ask for it. My son, Justin, is the President and CEO of TEXSAR (Texas Search and Rescue). It is an amazing organization with volunteers committed to service above self while working as Texans helping Texans. They step up to help others when they are having the worst days of their lives with search and rescue, flood and swift water rescues, force multiplier efforts, and more…all at no charge. They deploy at the requests of agencies, municipalities and offices of emergency management. TEXSAR is one of five finalists in a Land Rover giveaway of a Defender 130 vehicle. The winner is chosen by popular vote. This is where I ask for your help.
Please vote daily through October 4 for TEXSAR at https://www.landroverusa.com/experiences/events-and-sponsorships/defender-service-awards/vote/search-and-rescue.html to help them gain the vehicle that will help them help others. Check out their video at that site to get a sense of why this vehicle is so important. Thank you. Please share within your networks, too.
Check out the book, too. It has a wonderful exercise in it that has changed my life in several ways. Some of you long-time readers will remember some of the stories about that. Ask others for help in achieving your dreams; be of help to those who ask you.
